Working together for more than 15 years, Rockwell and Orlando make a great team. Rockwell, who grew up working in a nursery and earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois, leads the design process and Orlando constructs the final products. But they do not work in isolation. Rockwell meets with the homeowner or builders to review plans of the main structure early in the process. The two partners formed Azul-Verde about seven years ago and have been growing steadily ever since.

Azul-Verde employs 32 people, 10 of whom are in the office, including Rockwell and Orlando, designers, draftsmen, the administrative staff and field supervisors. The others are the landscape crews; currently Azul-Verde has five crews working on projects around the Valley.

In its nearly two decades, Azul-Verde has given back to the community by serving in industry associations. The company has been a long-standing member of the National Spa and Pool Institute, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association and the Better Business Bureau. Over the years, it has won more than 60 design and construction awards from the local and national trade associations. Rockwell served as president of ALCA in 2001, and he has been on the board of directors for the organization for seven years.
